Infrastructure development in this era has developed rapidly. Excavators are generally used to dredge rivers, dismantle roads, or demolish buildings. One of the most important components an excavator is bucket teeth. Bucket teeth have two characteristics, namely maximum performance and wear life. Therefore, author interested discussing one problems that exist optimizing design already on market order produce a lighter design. In study, optimization CAT 318 BL was carried out. simulation linear static method for topology process. The results obtained after topological were found mass reduction first variable 0.22 kg second 0.32 kg. addition, von misses stress variation 1 141,743 MPa, while 2 145,879 MPa. safety factor value 2.92 2.84 where it can be said occurs both designs, although tends increase, still declared safe.
